- Introduction:
Hu Wei Iron Bridge is structured from three segments of intricate steel truss that are uneven in height, and ten grand arched, hollow piers. Its majestic and glorious scene not only represents the way Taiwan had evolved from the unsettling inextricable “Iron age” period, It has also become an iconic historical landmark. Hu Wei Iron Bridge is one of the few truss bridge that carry small trains of the sugar refinery. It was once accompanied by another truss bridge that connected residents on both sides of the Xin Hu Wei river, therefore it was an important transportation bridge. Although the Hu Wei Iron Bridge is less well known than the Xiluo Bridge, it was built before the Xiluo Bridge. After the reconstruction of the truss bridge, it is now a remarkable leisure destination.

- Introduction:
Huwei, once a poor remote village, only started to be developed after the sugar factory was completed in 1906. The following year, it was the country's top sugar producer and Huwei became known as the sugar capital. Previously named the Greater Japan Sugar Company, the refinery is still in operation today. Even though the small train used to transport sugar cane and the railroad bridge over which it ran are no longer active, visitors can get a taste of the past from seeing the locomotive at Tongxin Park, the sugar museum, and from buying popsicles at the company store.
